Peter Fancovic is an award winning pianist whose performances have taken him to play in concert halls around the world to three continents. Early on as a student and later as a professional, his career was marked with competition awards, such as or prize for Best Interpretation of Beethoven’s work (Czech Republic),1st prize in the nationwide Slovak Conservatories Competition, Winner of the Manhattan School of Music Concerto Competition, (New York City), and as a Finalist in the Concert Artists and Associates International Concerto Competition in New York. His conservatory education in piano performance began at the age of fifteen at Bratislava Conservatory. He continued his studies at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague and received his Bachelor of Music degree. He won a full scholarship to the Manhattan School of Music and earned two degrees, a Master in Music and a Bachelor in Music, both in Piano Performance under guidance of Dr. Solomon Mikowsky. His chamber music proficiency was highlighted when he received Helen Cohn award for chamber music at Manhattan School of Music in 2012.

Peter Fancovic performed solo and chamber music recitals at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam as one of the few selected musicians of the concert series “New Masters on Tour”, furthermore at International Piano Festivals in Spain, (Canary Islands, Torrelodones, Valladolid), The Louisiana Piano Series, (Northwestern State University), and most recently in South Korea in the prestigious Lotte Concert Hall, also in Cuba where he performed as the featured soloist with Orquesta Sinfonica Nacional de Cuba and New York (Chelsea Music Festival).

Besides his solo career, Peter Fancovic is also an active and proficient chamber music pianist and versatile accompanist. Well versed in chamber music, he is sought after by his colleagues instrumentalists and vocalists. He performs chamber music concerts participates opera productions and has assisted music directors, and was coaching and directing vocal ensembles. 

On top of the standard repertoire, Peter Fancovic’s curiosity leads him to explore and find less known and played repertoire and he enjoys to enrich his concert program with it and bring the music to audiences along with the more common works he performs.
