Jihye Seo


Sweet but fluid soprano that also managed to make its presence (Opera Wire), Jihye Seo is a South Korean operatic young soprano who is making a wonderful career in the opera scene. She graduated from Mannes School of Music PDPL& MM, Seoul National University BM, Seoul Art high school.

She made her New York debut in La Calisto in 2022 through the role of Diana in Abrons Art Center. After that, She performed intensively in NYC, Dama and Lady Macbeth(cover) from Macbeth(Teatro Nuovo 2025 in New York City Center), Pamina from Die Zauberflöte, CioCio-san from Madama Butterfly, Donna Anna from Don Giovanni, Amore from L’incoronazione di Poppea, Lydia from Girl from Ipanema(Vienna Summer Music Festival 2023),Also she performed Opera Scenes as Antonia from Les contes des Hoffmann, Maria Stuarda from Maria Stuarda.

Also, she performed in a lot of concert series and broadcasts, including Carnegie Hall, WQXR NY Classical Music Radio(108.9 FM) station’s young artist showcase concert in 2024, Korean Broadcast(KBS 2021), New York Yacht Club opera night(2025), Sound of Nature (Collaboration with Presbyterian church 2024), A celebration of Shakespeare concert in House of Redeemer, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe’s Fictional Muses at Consulate General of Germany in New York, celebrating Zdeněk Fibich and his World at Bohemian National Hall, Classic Lyric Arts benefit Gala at The Kosciuszko Foundation, La Bella Opera Grand Gala at Seoul Arts Center, and opera highlight concert at LG Art Center.

Highlights of her awards and scholarships include Being the winner of the 2023 Vienna Summer Music Festival competition, the Rome competition, 2nd prize in the Euterpe awards, 2nd Prize in the Ewha Music competition, encouragement awards in Suri Music Concours in South Korea, also got Merit awards at the Mannes School of Music.

Her upcoming performances are Marguerite from Faust, CioCio-San from Madama Butterfly, Old Westbury Garden Concert.
